Fly Fishing in Salt Waters
Nov/Dec 2001 Vol. 8 No. 6
"Toothy fish require heavy biteproof shock tippets, and wire remains
one of the few options for those who pursue them. But rigging wire chocks
is a nightmare, and they cast horribly. Knottable steel leader material
is nothing new, but TyGer Leaders took it up a notch by introducing the
first stainless-steel knottable leader designed to handle toothy fish.
The wire base features nylon coating to resist abrasion, yet it remains
flexible enough to tie to monofilament using virtually all monofilament
knots. And thanks to the nylon coating, knots won't slip. Plus, the material
allows a natural casting action. All diameters reel nicely through guides
and rod eyes onto your reel.
Currently TyGer Leaders come in a nickel color in sizes ranging from
0.010-inch diameter 5-pound test up to 0.024-inch 50-pound test..."
